Five of the Best Cricket Betting Sites in Detail

We’ve added ten cricket betting sites to our batting order, but now it’s time to head to the crease and get to know our five favourite betting sites for cricket a little better. Here are concise reviews of the five best sites in our betting on cricket top 10.

1. Bet365 – The Number One Cricket Betting Site in the UK

There is no doubt that bet365 is number one for football betting sites, but how do the cricket betting options compare? You may have guessed the answer to that, given that we put bet365 number one in our list of the best cricket betting sites. While cricket is not as high a priority at bet365 as football, the cricket options at bet365 are still easily exceptional, with full coverage of all forms of cricket from all around the world.

bet365 cricket

Bet365 is one of the few cricket betting sites in the UK that marries live cricket betting with live streaming. Okay, so the matches (USA v Canada) were hardly headline-grabbing stuff, but that’s only when we looked, so more illustrious matches may be available in future. The site offers incredible coverage of all global cricket matches, with multiple market selections for each. It was an easy choice for bet365 cricket betting being top of our cricket betting sites list.

What We Like:

  • More cricket betting markets than any other site
  • Some live streaming of cricket, if not the top games
  • Full global coverage of all cricket competitions

Room for Improvement:

  • One of the few sports at bet365 not to have any offers

2. Spreadex – Ideal Site for Cricket Spread Betting

There is probably no better sport for statistic nuts than cricket, as the sport is very much a sport of numbers and measurables. This makes it ideal for spread betting, and Spreadex is the ideal site for spread betting. Just in case you need an explanation, spread betting is a form of betting that can reward you much more for the accuracy of your wagers. The risk with spread betting is that if a bet goes hopelessly wrong, you could lose much, much more than your initial stake.

spreadex cricket

But what if spread betting does not interest you at all? Or if you don’t like the risks that are associated with it? At Spreadex, that is no problem, as the site has ‘normal’ fixed odds betting too. If you click on any cricket market at Spreadex, you’ll clearly see buttons marked ‘spread betting’ and ‘fixed odds’, which means you can easily flick between the two. Spreadex has an excellent range of cricket betting markets, with both spread betting and fixed odds betting available for both.

What We Like:

  • Number one for cricket spread betting
  • Fixed odds betting for cricket available, too
  • Numerous inventive markets

Room for Improvement:

  • Spread betting can be confusing for the uninitiated

3. Betfred – #PickYourPunt, Enhanced Odds on Cricket Bets

Cricket is an ancient game, so it’s a good job Betfred is an ancient bookmaker (around since 1967). But there is nothing ancient about the Betfred bookmakers’ online cricket betting offerings, that’s for sure! Every day when you log into the Betfred website, you will be able to find all that day’s cricket betting opportunities, including internationals and domestic matches. Most matches will have at least 80 separate markets, and the top games far in excess of that.

Betfred cricket

One thing that Betfred excels at when it comes to cricket is the #PickYourPunt for specific bets. There are enhanced odds deals that, should you choose to except them, will give you highly decent returns, even for small stakes. If you want to place a specific exotic bet on cricket at Betfred, then you can ask via X (formerly Twitter). Once Betfred stick their socials on, you should get an offer back. You can then choose to accept the offered odds or not.

What We Like:

  • At least 80 separate markets for most matches
  • A high number of enhanced odds deals
  • #PickYourPunt – create bespoke bets and ask for a price

Room for Improvement:

  • No live streaming

4. QuinnBet – Bet on Test Matches, T20 Matches and More

QuinnBet is a site with an excellent reputation as one of the best horse racing betting sites, but what about those who wish to bet on the largely horse-free pastime of cricket? Fortunately, QuinnBet is very good for cricket which is why it makes it onto our top cricket betting sites list, of course! The site has the full range of competitions covered and all flavours of cricket from five day test match slogs to briefer endurances such as The Hundred and Twenty20 matches.

quinnbet cricket

Having said all that, all you get at QuinnBet in terms of cricket betting are the basics, but at least the basics are fine enough and that includes all the live cricket betting options. There are no specific cricket betting bonuses at QuinnBet, but you can earn a daily free bet up to £5 by betting on cricket in play (and other markets) on events with minimum odds of 6/4 (2.50), max bet £10 per selection. You will then be credited with a free bet up to £5 based on 5 per cent of your betting contribution.

What We Like:

  • Full coverage of all top-class cricket matches
  • Plenty of live betting options
  • £5 free bet available every day if you qualify

Room for Improvement:

  • No other cricket promotions

5. 10Bet – Place Wagers on the Ashes, ODIs and Twenty20 Games

10bet has, for a long time, been one of our favourite sports betting sites, and we were happy to find that it is an ideal site for cricket betting opportunities. You can easily see the cricket betting markets available by clicking on the ‘Today’s Cricket’ button on the left-hand menu when you log on to the site. You can then switch between ‘In-Play’ for the current live betting options, or cricket matches in the near future by using the menu items ‘Today’, ’48 Hours’ and ‘7 Days’ meaning you can place your cricket bets up to seven days in advance.

10bet cricket

The coverage of cricket is pretty much how you would expect for any top class cricket betting site. It has Twenty20 international qualifiers right down to unfancied teams in competitions such as the Netherlands and the USA … even down to Guernsey! You will find competitions and tournaments covered from every single cricket playing nation, and we like the coverage of all the domestic tournaments in India, far below the heights of the IPL. Naturally, all cricket tournaments in England at all levels are well covered.

What We Like:

  • Full coverage of cricket all over the globe
  • Easy-to-use menu allowing you to find your bets
  • Decent welcome bonus

Room for Improvement:

  • Not a lot of cricket promos

Popular Cricket Betting Markets

This next section will take a look at all the most popular betting markets available when you are looking to bet on cricket.

Match Winner 3-Way Match Winner 2-Way Top Run Scorer Top Bowler Total Runs Player to Score 50/100 Method of Dismissal

Match Winner 3-Way

Cricket is one of the few global sports where a draw is an acceptable result. Draws in cricket happen when no result is achieved during the time that is available for the match, such as the bowling team not being able to bowl out the batting team, and the batting team not having surpassed the bowling team’s total while still having wickets in hand. With ‘Match Winner 3-Way’ you can bet on the team that you think will win, or the match ending in a draw or tie.

Match Winner 2-Way

Betting on ‘Match Winner 2-Way’ means that you pick which side you think will win. With this bet, you cannot bet on the draw or tie. You may then wonder what happens if the game does end in a draw – do I lose my stake? The answer is … no! If you bet 2-Way and the game ends up as a draw then your stake is returned to you. Note that at some sites, this bet is known as ‘Draw No Bet’.

Top Run Scorer

This bet generally means selecting the player who you think will score the most runs during the match out of all players for both sides and over both innings if it is a two-innings match. There are alternatives, though, such as top runner for a specific side, or in a specific innings. Sites may also offer a fictitious match-up between two players or a group of players in which you must select the player who will end up scoring the most runs.

Top Bowler

The concept of ‘top bowler’ can have a number of definitions, but when it comes to cricket betting sites, top bowler usually means top wicket taker. Like top run scorer, you can bet on a per team or per innings basis, but there are generally not as many options for top bowler at cricket betting sites as there are for top run scorer betting.

Total Runs

This bet is usually on a per-team, per-inning basis, and on an over/under basis too. Most sites give a small range of options and odds, such as over/under 300.5, over/under 350.5 and so on. However, once a match has had the first ball bowled, those totals will change as the site reflects upon the weather and the state of the wicket. The odds also depend upon the relative strength of the two teams that are going to be in opposition.

Player to Score 50/100

This bet will not be offered for all players but only for the leading batsmen who are playing in the match. Odds will be given on a yes/no basis for a player reaching a half century and for a player reaching a century. Again, the prices for these bets will fluctuate during play, even when the player has not yet made it to the crease. If you are going to bet on a ‘yes’ basis then the best odds offered will be before the first ball is bowled.

Method of Dismissal

This bet is usually on the first or next wicket to fall, no matter the player at the crease. There are five main methods of dismissal – caught, LBW, bowled, run out and stumped. All other, rarer possible methods of dismissal (retired, hit the ball twice, hit wicket, obstructing the field, handled the ball and timed out) are usually collected under ‘others’, making ten possible dismissal methods in total.

An associated bet – method of dismissal being caught yes/no – is also usually available.

What We Expect from the Best Cricket Bookmakers

So, how do we rate bookmakers when it comes to cricket? The first and perhaps most important aspect is the number of markets the site offers. Cricket is not a global game like football, so it’s important that the site offers as many global cricket markets as possible. All forms of cricket, including multi-day and limited overs cricket must be included too.

For each market, we look at the betting options available. As cricket is a game of numbers and measurables, many betting markets are available for betting sites to include. We therefore check the markets per match that are available, including searching for inventive ones.

Naturally, it goes without saying that we undertake a review of the site’s suitability as a betting site overall as well. This includes any sports betting bonuses or promotions the site offers (including any cricket-specific ones, if we find them), the complete A-Z of markets, payment methods, site support and anything else we consider crucial to the sports betting experience.

Best Cricket Betting Offers

A quick look now at the kind of offers you might be able to find at sports betting sites that you can use on your favourite sport.

Welcome Offers

All sports betting sites in the UK have welcome offers. You will find that they are usually in the form of a free bet, or a welcome bonus. To activate a free bet, you typically have to make a bet of the same value using your own money. You can then use your free bet to place any wager, but should that wager win your free bet stake will not be returned.

A matched deposit bonus will match the first deposit that you make at the site. Some offers may double it, and some may halve it. Your bonus money can only ever be used for betting and can never be withdrawn. You may have playthrough requirements to deal with as well, before you are able to withdraw your winnings.

Acca Boosts

‘Acca’ is short for accumulator and is where you string a series of single bets together (usually a minimum of four), with any winnings from bet A becoming the stake for bet B, and so on. Of course, all bets have to win in the accumulator else the entire bet fails. Many sites will boost acca winners, with the rule being the more legs an acca has, the bigger boost you get. Take care with such boosts, though, as it may tempt you to add more legs to your acca, and the more legs an acca has, the more likely it is to fail.

Acca insurance is a similar deal in which your acca stake is returned as a free bet or site credit if your acca fails by one leg.

Enhanced Odds

These types of bonuses offer better odds than normal on specific market outcomes, such as England to defeat Sri Lanka in a T20 match. You may have to make a minimum bet in order to secure the enhanced odds.

In addition, with some of these deals, you are paid out at the normal odds and any money you win in excess of those odds is paid as bonus cash that can only be used for betting and can never be withdrawn.

Key Cricket Betting Events to Note

Because cricket is played in both hemispheres, it is an all-year-round sport. This means that whenever the fancy takes you to place a bet on a cricket, you should have something to bet on. Here are some cricket events that should interest you the most.

The Ashes

The Ashes is a men’s cricket tournament that is played biennially (by and large) between Australia and England. It was first officially contested in 1882, although Australia had played England regularly before then. After Australia had beaten England in 1882 at The Oval, a UK newspaper stated that ‘English Cricket has died, the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia’. When England won the following year, Australia presented the team with a small urn reputedly containing ‘the ashes’ mentioned the year before. It is this urn that the two teams now compete for when they play.

The host of The Ashes alternates with every series. As of 2024, Australia have won the series 34 times and England 32, with seven draws.

T20 World Cup

T20 refers to a brief version of cricket in which the teams bat and bowl for twenty overs apiece. This form of cricket was introduced in 2003, with the first T20 World Cup being played in 2007. Scheduled to run every two years, the 2011 tournament was moved back to 2010. The 2018 version was cancelled due to clashing with other tournaments, and the 2020 tournament was moved to 2021 because of COVID.

The 2024 T20 World Cup was played in the West Indies and the USA, and was won by India. The 2026 tournament will be held in India and Sri Lanka, and 2028 in Australia and New Zealand. India, England and the West Indies have the most tournament wins with two each.

T20 Blast

In an attempt to halt the bottoming out of cricket attendances, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced a new form of cricket – initially called Twenty20 – in which sides batted for a maximum of 20 overs each with a 15-minute break in between. First named the ‘Twenty20 Cup’ the name was changed to the ‘T20 Blast’ in 2014.

It is played by the limited-overs squads of all 18 first-class cricket counties in England and Wales. Teams compete in groups and then advance to a knock-out stage. The semi-finals and final are all usually played on ‘Finals Day’ at the same venue on the same day.

The Leicester Foxes and the Hampshire Hawks are the most successful T20 Blast sides with three titles each.

ICC World Cup

Limited overs cricket was first played in the 1950s and introduced to English cricket in 1962. By the 1970s, it had grown so much in popularity that most cricket-playing countries played some form of limited-overs cricket. The International Cricket Conference (ICC) decided to organise a ODI (One Day International) World Cup to be played in England in 1975.

The ICC World Cup has taken place (roughly) every four years since then, and exactly every four years since 1999. The West Indies won the first title in 1975, but 2023 and current champions Australia have the most wins with six.

The 2027 ICC World Cup will take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with 14 participating nations.

ICC Champions Trophy

This is an elite cricket ODI tournament. It was initially run from 1998 every two years, but switched to every four years in 2009, although there was no tournament in 2021 due to COVID. It is an invitation-only featuring the world’s top seven teams from the last Cricket World Cup plus the host which qualifies automatically. The 2027 tournament will take place in Pakistan.

The first winners of the ICC Champions Trophy in 1998 were South Africa. Other winners have been New Zealand, India (one win and one tie), Sir Lanka (tie), West Indies, Pakistan and Australia (twice).

Asia Cup

The Asia Cup is an ODI or T20 cricket competition run every two years (or so – the 2020 competition was moved to 2022 because of COVID and the 2022 competition to 2023) for the cricket-playing nations of Asia.

The five full members of the Asian Cricket Council (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) qualify automatically for each tournament, with the sixth competitor being the winner of the previous ACC Premier Cup. In previous years, these have included Nepal, the UAE and Hong Kong. India have won the ACC Asia Cup eight times, Sri Lanka six and Pakistan twice, with no other country having managed to secure a title.

Indian Premier League (IPL)

Created in 2007 and running every year since, the IPL is the world’s leading franchise league playing T20 cricket. Based in India, it is the sixth-most attended sporting league in the world, and the most-watched sports league in Asia.

The first season (2008) involved eight newly created franchise teams in Chennai, Mumbai, Mohali (Punjab), Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad (Deccan), Delhi and Jaipur (Rajasthan). By 2024, ten teams were competing, with the addition of teams in Lucknow and Gujarat.

The Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings are the most successful IPL sides, with five wins each. The Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural title but have failed to win it since.

The Hundred

In 2016, the ECB entered discussions to form a T20 competition like the IPL with teams in the UK based on city franchises as opposed to traditional county teams. The competition began in 2021 (delayed by COVID by a year) with new men’s and women’s sides in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, West End (Hampshire), Nottingham, Cardiff and two in London.

Instead of T20 cricket, a(nother) new format was devised where each side would face a single innings of 100 balls with bowlers being able to bowl five or ten consecutive balls, changing ends after every ten balls.

The first edition of The Hundred was won by the Southern Brave (men’s) and the Oval Invincibles (women’s). The Oval Invincibles are the most successful side, with two titles each for both men’s and women’s.

The County Championship

The County Championship is the longest-running cricket competition in the world. It was first held in 1890 following the success of the establishment of The Football League two years earlier, although many unofficial competitions had preceded it. Eight counties competed in the first tournament, and by 1921, this had risen to 17. It remained so until the addition of Durham in 1992.

The Championship has undergone multiple changes of format. The biggest change came in 2000 when the league was split into two divisions of nine sides with promotion and relegation. The aim of this was to increase diminishing interest in cricket by giving teams more to play for than winning the title. This was changed in 2017 to a 10-team Division One and an 8-team Division Two, which was the same season Durham were relegated due to their financial issues.

Yorkshire are the most successful County Championship side of all time, with 32 titles and one shared.

Live Cricket Betting and Streaming

Cricket is ideal for live betting. This is because, during the majority of the time of a cricket match, nothing is happening. It’s the anticipation of the next bowler v batter encounter that makes cricket the game it is. All this means you have plenty of time to get any live bets on during the incessant breaks in play, and all betting sites that offer cricket betting offer live betting on cricket.

Live streaming of cricket is not nearly as popular at sports betting sites, although some sites do provide live streaming. Cricket matches are incredibly lengthy, with top-tier test matches lasting up to five days. Even limited over matches last hours. Sites tend not to stream lengthy sports as they want you focused on betting, not watching!

Some sites though will stream T20 matches, but they are unable to broadcast high-tier matches due to broadcasting deals. However, you may find that a lot of cricket matches are available for audio commentary.

Cricket Betting Sites on Mobile Devices

You will easily be able to bet on cricket at UK Cricket betting sites on your phone or tablet. There are two ways you can go about this – the first is to download a dedicated app to your mobile device, and the second is to use a mobile browser. The choice is yours, as virtually all betting sites for cricket in the UK offer cricket betting apps you can download and install. Any app that qualifies as the best cricket betting app will be fully functional on your device, making placing any cricket bet a breeze.

Naturally, all cricket betting apps can be used for more than cricket betting. You will be able to use them to bet on any sport you desire, plus you will have the full functionality of all account features. You can use the same account on your desktop as you do on mobile. In fact, it’s forbidden to have separate desktop and mobile accounts.

Cricket Betting Tips to Improve Your Chances

Want some cricket betting tips? Well, you are in luck as we have asked our cricket betting experts to provide you with some! Here are a trio of cricket betting tips that should bowl you over.

Watch the Weather

The weather is of huge importance when it comes to cricket betting. If rain is constantly forecast over the span of a five-day (or six if the match is not batting on a Sunday) match then this will hamper the chances of either side coming out a winner, and making the odds of a draw increasingly attractive. Also, some batters and bowlers could be described as ‘fair weather players’, so bear that in mind too.

Consider the State of the Pitch

Unlike baseball, most balls in cricket are bowled with the intention of bouncing once. The current state of the pitch and, most importantly, the creases will dictate the play. For example, should the creases become dry, cracks will appear, making the bounce of the ball more difficult to read. Dry creases favour spin and breaking bowlers. On the contrary, should the weather remain damp, the slickness of the crease will favour bowlers who bowl for speed.

Note the Venue

Cricket venues are not universal. Different pitches have different dimensions, climates, standards of playing surface and so on. Some pitches, such as those in Australia, are renowned for their bounce and pace, which favours aggressive batsmen. Other pitches, such as those in England, are good for swing and pace, which favours bowlers. Pitches in India and Pakistan are typically dry, which makes them good pitches for spinners. When betting on cricket, it’s important to match the abilities of the players to the type of pitch used.

Where to Find the Best Cricket Betting Odds

Cricket betting sites strive to provide the best cricket betting odds. They do so by calculating the chances of any outcome, converting that into odds and adding a little bit of ‘juice’ on top to make sure they stay in profit. All this means that the odds offered by all the biggest and best cricket sites are fairly similar. This means you don’t really have to go hunting around to find the best cricket betting odds, and as long as you stick with the sites listed here as ‘the best’, you won’t go far wrong.

As an example of cricket betting odds, here are the odds from our top pick, bet365 (as at 16:20 on 11/09/24) for the 2025 Indian Premier League. You can compare them to the odds from other IPL betting sites.

2025 Indian Premier League Outright Winners
Mumbai Indians 9/2 Chennai Super Kings 11/2 Kolkata Knight Riders 6/1
Royal Challengers Bengaluru 13/2 Rajasthan Royals 8/1 Sunrisers Hyderabad 8/1
Lucknow Super Giants 9/1 Delhi Capitals 9/1 Gujarat Titans 10/1
